Commissioning…

hondurasToday at church we had a Teacher Commissioning ceremony.  I thought it was really neat to stand there with my husband of which we teach the College and Career class and see where God is taking us and how he is working in our lives.  As we were listening to Bro. James speak I was reminded of how not only has God called us to teach our Sunday School class, but we are also reminded in Matthew 28 as a believer to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”  I pray that as we leave on this trip to Honduras that we are reminded of that and come away with the reassurance that we must do this everyday!  I know this is going to be a life changing experience but I want it to be an experience that sticks with me and changes me in ways that glorifies God.  We will be leaving on Saturday please keep us in your prayers for what God has in stores for us!!

Ready to start the New Year… then head to Honduras!!

Today is New Years Eve and its always fun to look back and reflect on the current year and see what all God has done in our lives but it is also fun to look ahead and start new things and see what we can improve on in the new year.  One thing that we are super excited about is going to Honduras on a mission trip, what better way to start the New Year!!  God has greatly helped us into making this possible, when we first prayed about going on this trip we thought how can we afford it, but God answered our prayers and thankfully all of our funds has come in above and beyond!!  God is so good!  So in your celebration of the New Year, while you are reflecting back on 2009 also ask God what he has in store for you for 2010!!
